Endangered Sub-Species Characters

Hairy-Nosed Otter • Forest Owlet • Gould's Mouse

Hawthorn is a co-op sandbox fantasy RPG sim video game where players can build thriving villages, form friendships with memorable animalfolk, embark on adventures, and carve out their own path through a living world inspired by classic fairytales and storybook adventures. This is the highly anticipated passion project being self-funded and crowdfunded by a small independent team of former Bethesda, Naughty Dog, and Bioware developers!

This pre-order does NOT come with a retail Steam Key for Hawthorn (available at Early Access Launch - date to be announced). If you want to get early access to Hawthorn before launch and give direct feedback to the developers shaping the future of the game, then please pre-order Hawthorn.

We are aiming to build something ambitious that will have many layers added over time, but right now we are focused on the small beginnings, the foundations of this charming, unique game that will grow alongside its community. Your support allows us to keep expanding the game while staying independent for as long as possible and while we preserve the spirit that inspired Hawthorn in the first place. We are incredibly thankful to our current community backers and we’re inviting you to join us at the beginning of this journey to help shape what this world becomes. We have big dreams for Hawthorn, but every great tale begins with the first chapter!

Protect the Endangered

The Hairy-Nosed Otter, Forest Owlet, and Gould's Mouse were all once thought extinct and lost forever. Yet against the odds, researchers eventually rediscovered them in the wild, quietly surviving. Today, these remarkable animals stand as symbols of resilience, hope, and the importance of protecting small things that matter. They remind us that sometimes meaningful things in the world are small, vulnerable, and often overlooked. There's something hopeful about the idea that a thing can be thought lost, only to be re-discovered after it’s been enduring quietly.

As part of this initiative, 10% of the proceeds generated from this product will be donated to forest conservation efforts at The Nature Conservancy and similar non-profits helping protect the habitats that real-world wildlife depends on to survive and recover. By reserving this Endangered Species Collection, you're helping protect natural habitats, supporting independent game development, and celebrating three extraordinary animals.

Thank You Note
